Yup...less than a week before Christmas, and Safeway is already stocking 'bake your own' Valentine's cookies.
They weren't on sale, or I might have bought some. What I should have done was looked at the expiration date, so I could plan for when they might go on sale.
Do what you are doing, but do not let "being liked" the criteria for decisions about the job. Competency and honesty will gain you respect and likely, some appreciation.

I think being a first line supervisor is the toughest job, because you get problems from both directions. Good luck.
