I'd like a Sugar-Coated Satan Sandwich with a side of Terrorism, please.

Over at Say Uncle, there is a link, to a post, to a report about some Democrats, who not happy with the compromise that has supposedly been reached to extend the debt ceiling, have been lobbing around the 'terrorist' word.

Apparently, it started with Mike Doyle, Representative from Pennsylvania, who said:

“We have negotiated with terrorists,” an angry Doyle said, according to sources in the room. “This small group of terrorists have made it impossible to spend any money.”
Then, the Vice-President got into the act, agreed with Mr. Doyle, saying that 'They have acted like terrorists'.

Really?  The Tea Party members flew planes into sky-scrapers?  Blew up a Federal Building in Oklahoma? Blew up buildings in Norway then shot-up a youth camp?  Burned down a Religious Compound just outside Waco, Texas, killing 74 people?

Obviously, a poor choice of words.  Originally, the Vice-President's office had no comment, as whatever was said was said behind closed doors(you know...that new 'transparent government thing', but after the story broke, one of his spokespeople, Kendra Barkoff, said:   “The word was used by several members of Congress. The vice president does not believe it’s an appropriate term in political discourse.” Especially where reporters can hear you.

So, everyone was saying it, and that makes it okay.

Not to be outdone by the vice-president, Representative Emanuel Cleaver called the deal 'A Sugar-Coated Satan Sandwich, later repeating the 'Satan Sandwich' part during a T.V. interview.  Don't they feed these guys in Congress?

I can see why they are unhappy with the deal...I mean, 2.4 Trillion over 10 years is like what, 240 Billion a year?  Holy Moly..that's like 7% of the budget you are asking them to do away with!  We will add 20% LESS DEBT EVERY YEAR!

Wait a minute...even with this deal, we are still adding debt?  Oh yeah.  What a punk on the American People.  Cut spending by 240 BILLION a year, and yet extending the debt ceiling 2.4 Trillion is still going to be lucky to get us 2 years down the road before we are talking about this again.

At that point, a Satan Sandwich might the only thing we are able to afford for lunch at the House of Representatives Cafeteria.
